Ethereum games work offchain too. Look at the tech behind Lava Wallet. Just by signing an offchain piece of data and giving that signature to another person, you are providing incentives to that other person with no onchain tx. (Because that other person COULD submit that signed data to the blockchain to claim a reward.) Amazing stuff
